240K suspension bushes and swaybar’s

Posted by Kent in K Suspension

Since the car is going to be handling a whole lot more power, i thought it best to try and replace as many old bushes as possible with aftermarket urathene replacements. I picked up a set of Noltec (N61613) bushes for the two rear control arms.

To remove the standard bushes, it is probably best to press them out with a pnumatic press, but since we didn’t have one, we used a hacksaw to cut up the crush tube, then pulled the bushes out.

I also picked up a set of front (BDF33) and Rear (BDR5) Whiteline rear sway bars for the 240K. The fronts are a replacement, however the rear is an add on kit as the 240K never came equiped with rear sway bars.

Thanks to 440K from Classiczcars.com for pointing out that the kit from whiteline was incomplete (seems like their included sticker was correct!), after contacting whiteline, the missing parts (picture below) were identified and sent to me. I probably won’t get around to installing these until the car is nearing completion though, it looks way to complicated at the moment

The front swaybar kit was much simpler to install. The new swaybar is slightly thicker, and comes with the bushes to hold it on

The last item was a set of SuperPro Inner bushes for the front lower control arms (SPF1224K), these will be installed at a later date when the front suspension gets pulled apart.
